Ivan Toney has entered a not guilty plea to an assault charge following allegations that he head-butted and struck a member of the public inside a Soho nightclub. The England forward appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, where he denied a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

The court was told that on 6 December last year, an exchange of words occurred between the 30-year-old striker and Saber Da Silva at 100 Wardour Street, a venue hosting live music. Prosecutor Tom Heslop stated that the content of their conversation remains unknown, but the interaction led to the two men "facing off" before Toney "moved forward aggressively and head-butted the complainant, followed by several punches." It is alleged that Da Silva sustained injuries to his nose and fingers as a result of the incident.
